Class Description List

So you’re thinking of signing up for a class! Great! Here’s some basic info to keep in mind:

Please respect our age requirements for the classes. For everyone’s enjoyment, it’s important we are able to move the class along at a pace that is comfortable for all. We do encourage adults and kids taking classes together, within the given guidelines. We really believe in mixing age groups (for example teens and retirees together), because we can learn a lot from each other. It’s important for kids to be taken seriously, and for adults to lighten up. It’s a great dynamic!
Reservations for a class are made ONLY upon receipt of payment. No exceptions. Methods of payment accepted are credit/debit cards over the phone or cash/check/credit/debit cards in-store.
Cancellations need to be given up to 48 hours before the class to receive a store credit. “No shows” or cancels made less than 48 hours before the class will not receive a credit. No exceptions.
When you sign up for a class, you will receive a statement, listing the date and time of the class, as well as two supply lists. The first list contains items you definitely need to bring…..please be sure to review this list and bring all supplies listed there. You will not be able to complete the project without them, and these are items we will not be able to supply for you. The second list contains additional items you can bring if you like. Some students have a specific color scheme or theme in mind, or like to add their own personal mementos to the project.

**Please note: Class fees DO include material costs. We provide basic supplies to complete all projects. At the time of signing up, you will be notified if there are optional items you could bring to class.

Altered Jeans - $35

We’ll help you turn that old boring pair of jeans into a unique piece of wearable art that really makes a statement! It’s so much fun! You bring the jeans, and we’ll supply all the stuff you need to alter, doodle, embellish, distress and glam them up! Go as crazy as you want! Ages 12 & up welcome.

Dream Boxes - $30

“Nichos” are small tin shadow boxes handmade in Mexico, and a popular folk art piece. Each tin box has small glass door that looks in on a small space which is ideal for displaying a shrine, photo or collage. Come and make one with us! We’ll provide the nicho, as well as tons of ephemera to decorate it with. We’ll use acrylic paints, alcohol inks, papers and embellishments to achieve the look you want. Ages 10 and up welcome.

Silly Sock Creatures - $20

This class is a blast for kids and adults! With some simple tricks of the needle and thread, you can turn a pair of funky socks into a super silly sock creature! We’ll take you through all the steps for one of the basic creatures. After you know the basics, you can make all kinds of little critters with many variations! Basic needle and thread handling necessary. Ages 12 and up welcome.

Super Sassy Button Jewelry - $30

Pull up a seat, get comfy, and create a colorful button bracelet, with a couple of matching button rings. We love the popsicle colors in this grouping! A cute compliment to any outfit! These projects are easy peasy…you’ll be using simple jewelry tools. Ages 12 and up are welcome.

Asian Inspired Button Jewelry - $30

Let’s make this cool Asian inspired button bracelet and matching rings! The color scheme is crisp black and white with red accents. Simple stringing and knotting techniques will be used to complete this project. We will also be selling the kits, so you can take some home, and make more as gifts! Ages 12 and up are welcome.

Flowers! Flowers! Flowers! - $30

Flowers are a fun and flirty decorative element! We can show you how to make three different kinds of funky flowers….they can be used for topping gift packages, turning into jewelry, or a colorful decoration in your home. We’ll be using papers, buttons, wire, paints and some surprise ingredients! We’ll supply everything you need, but if you have some favorite buttons and papers (heavy weight) you’d like to use, bring ‘em along! Ages 12 and up welcome.

Mixed Media Collage - $35

Bring along copies of your favorite photos, and make a colorful collage with your picture as the focal point! Acrylic paints will be used in different ways to achieve textures, backgrounds, and add whimsical details to your piece. Attach a favorite quote, layer on some papers, and you’re good to go! Ages 10 and up welcome.

Whimsical Dream Journals - $16

We have these super cool blank journals full of colorful pages just waiting for your creativity! There are many ways to embellish your dream journal using papers, felt, and stitching. We have fabulous stamps, scissors and punches for you to use, as well as ribbons, yarns and other trimmings to make a one of kind keepsake to hold all your hopes and dreams. Ages 10 and up welcome.

Funky Felt Dolls - $24

Create a wacky little art doll to be your muse and inspire you on those dull, dreary days! You’ll start with a felted wool cone, and dress her up with embroidery, more felt pieces, pewter charms, beads, yarns and more trimmings. Simple needle and thread handling necessary. Kits for these dolls are also available, so you can take more home to make! Ages 10 and up welcome.

Window Art - $75

We have lots of old windows for you to turn into a cool piece of wall art! There are so many possibilities with this….use your favorite inspirational quote, try out some new color combinations and more! We have all the paints and embellishments you need to complete it, including the heavy duty hardware used for hanging it on the wall. So much fun! All ages welcome.

Collage Houses - $35

Our cute little wooden houses are so much fun to make, you’ll want to make a whole bunch! In this class, we’ll provide a couple of house shaped blocks of wood, and show you some really fun and simple techniques for decorating them with paints, papers, and more! You could bring copies of photos of your loved ones and have them peeking out the windows of your house. So much fun! You’ll be able to rest them on a shelf, or attach picture hanging hardware so you can hang them on the wall. Ages 8 and up welcome.

Queen For The Evening - $30

This will be a fun filled evening, filled with feathers, confetti and glittery sparkles. Create a whimsical party crown and magic wand for yourself, or as a gift for a super sparkly someone! You will have access to the gorgeous variety of trimmings and supplies in The Dreaming Bear studio, from which to create your luscious masterpiece. When we’re done, we’ll model our well deserved crowns, we’ll cast happy spells with our magic wands, and we’ll even treat you to a yummy little cupcake!

Artist Trading Cards - $30

Artist Trading Cards are miniature works of art, created for the intention of trading and sharing, never selling. They encompass all types of media, including paper, fabric, metal, doodling, photos and more. This is a crafting phenomenon which spans all continents, and even has online support groups. In this class, you will learn several fun, easy techniques for creating your mini works of art. You’ll end up with several pieces, and you will even have a chance to trade with other artists in the class! Ages 10 & up welcome.

Canvas Critters - $35

You’ll have a blast creating these crazy, one of a kind critters! They make an amusing little gift for a kid at heart, or fill up a basket with them to greet giggling guests. Each one ends up with its own quirky personality! During this class, we’ll show you different ways to create your own funky fabric, using paints, stamps, brushes, and some unexpected materials. You’ll have a chance to stitch up a few of these little guys to take home with you, and we’ll also provide a couple of patterns for future reference. This is a great way to use up odds and ends in your craft room. And we’ll be serving treats….what else? Monster bars!!! Basic sewing machine operation skills required. Ages 12 & up welcome.

Wild Women Rule - $35

They say that “well behaved women rarely make history.” Well, we’re not sure about making history, but you will definitely make a splash with these cute little wild women muses! We will provide all of the supplies you need to create several little wild women to take home with you. They can be turned into pins, magnets, party favors, or as an embellishment used in a larger piece of artwork. Ages 12 and up welcome.

Witchy Poo Felt Dolls - $35

These two little sweeties will make a cute addition to your fall/Halloween decorating! With just some simple stitches with needle and thread, and lots of fun embellishments to choose from, you’ll want to make lots more! Ages 12 and up welcome. Basic needle/thread handling required.
